Save the Date
Enjoy a special evening of conversation and dessert with Joe Sacco, a Portland cartoonist known for his graphic novel journalism as well as his work in Time, The New York Times Sunday Magazine, Harper’s, The New Yorker, and The Guardian, among others.
He will share insights into his career as one of the country’s premier comic journalists and discuss his most recent graphic novel, Paying the Land, which the Library Journal calls “a vitally important story about an underrepresented people.” The work, covering indigenous North America, resource extraction, and our debt to the natural world, has additionally been hailed as a “triumph of empathy” by the Guardian and another hit by the “master of comics journalism” by Publisher’s Weekly.
Let’s come together and make a difference in our community. Purchasing a ticket today will help the Library Foundation of Hillsboro make a positive impact on readers of all ages for years to come.
